WP_Filesystem_Base::chmod() WordPress Method

The WP_Filesystem_Base::chmod() function is used to change the permissions of a file or directory. The function takes two parameters: the path to the file or directory and the desired permission level. The permission level must be specified in octal notation. For example, to give read and write permissions to all users, the permission level would be 0666. To give read, write, and execute permissions to all users, the permission level would be 0777.
