WP_Widget_Text::is_legacy_instance() WordPress Method
The WP_Widget_Text::is_legacy_instance() method allows a plugin or theme to determine whether a widget instance is using the legacy (pre-4.8.0) editor. This can be useful for enqueuing appropriate scripts or styling. This method was added in WordPress 4.8.0 and replaces the_widget()'s $instance['filter'] argument.
WP_Widget_Text::is_legacy_instance( array $instance ) #
Determines whether a given instance is legacy and should bypass using TinyMCE.
Parameters
- $instance
(array)(Required)Instance data.
- 'text'
(string) Content. - 'filter'
(bool|string) Whether autop or content filters should apply. - 'legacy'
(bool) Whether widget is in legacy mode.
- 'text'
Return
(bool) Whether Text widget instance contains legacy data.
