wp_create_image_subsizes() WordPress Function
The wp_create_image_subsizes() function is used to create additional image sizes for a WordPress site. This is useful for creating different versions of an image for different purposes, such as a thumbnail or a larger version for use in a lightbox. This function can be used to create as many image sizes as needed, and all images will be stored in the WordPress media library.
wp_create_image_subsizes( string $file, int $attachment_id ) #
Creates image sub-sizes, adds the new data to the image meta sizes
array, and updates the image metadata.
Description
Intended for use after an image is uploaded. Saves/updates the image metadata after each sub-size is created. If there was an error, it is added to the returned image metadata array.
Parameters
- $file
(string)(Required)Full path to the image file.
- $attachment_id
(int)(Required)Attachment ID to process.
Return
(array) The image attachment meta data.
