The pre_{$taxonomy}_{$field} hook is called before a specific taxonomy field is updated. This hook can be used to modify the value of the field before it is saved to the database.

Filters a taxonomy field before it is sanitized.
Description
The dynamic portions of the filter name, $taxonomy and $field, refer to the taxonomy slug and field name, respectively.
