WP_REST_Controller::prepare_item_for_database() WordPress Method
The WP_REST_Controller::prepare_item_for_database() method is used to prepare an item for database insertion or update. This method can be overridden by child classes to customize the way an item is prepared for database insertion or update.

Prepares one item for create or update operation.
