delete_expired_transients() WordPress Function

The delete_expired_transients() function is used to remove any expired transients from the WordPress database. This function is automatically run by WordPress every time a page is loaded, but it can also be run manually by calling it from a plugin or theme.

delete_expired_transients( bool $force_db = false ) #

Deletes all expired transients.


Description

The multi-table delete syntax is used to delete the transient record from table a, and the corresponding transient_timeout record from table b.

$force_db

(bool)(Optional) Force cleanup to run against the database even when an external object cache is used.

Default value: false
