selected() WordPress Function

The selected() function is used to determine whether a particular option is selected in a drop-down list. This function is typically used within a tag in order to dynamically select the correct option. The function takes two parameters: the first is the value of the option to check, and the second is the value of the currently selected option. If the first parameter matches the second, then the option is considered to be selected.

selected( mixed $selected, mixed $current = true, bool $echo = true ) #

Outputs the HTML selected attribute.
