discover_pingback_server_uri() WordPress Function
The discover_pingback_server_uri() function is used to find the Pingback server URI of a given URL. This is useful for implementing the Pingback protocol on your own website.
discover_pingback_server_uri( string $url, string $deprecated = '' ) #
Finds a pingback server URI based on the given URL.
Description
Checks the HTML for the rel="pingback" link and x-pingback headers. It does a check for the x-pingback headers first and returns that, if available. The check for the rel="pingback" has more overhead than just the header.
Parameters
- $url
(string)(Required)URL to ping.
- $deprecated
(string)(Optional)Not Used.
Default value: ''
Return
(string|false) String containing URI on success, false on failure.
