_deprecated_file() WordPress Function

The deprecated_file() function is used to mark a file as deprecated and log a message to the debug.log file. This function should be used whenever a file is removed from a plugin or theme.

Mark a file as deprecated and inform when it has been used.

Description

There is a hook ‘deprecated_file_included’ that will be called that can be used to get the backtrace up to what file and function included the deprecated file.
